John
Raymond
earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Ceramics from the School
of the Art Institute of Chicago. Prior to joining EFP, John
worked for a production pottery for 18 years. He has experience
in all aspects of pottery-making, rising through the ranks to
supervisory positions. Most recently, he was a supervisor
responsible for the maintenance and firing of several large
kilns.
John
is EFP’s Studio Foreman. He supervises glazing and studio operations. John is somewhat of a
hybrid, being both artistically and mechanically inclined. We
count on him to keep our kilns and other equipment
up and running, as well as to keep the studio organized. It’s
a lot of work, but John takes on every challenge with
diligence and a positive attitude. John is a high-quality individual -
someone who everyone else in the studio looks to and respects.

The idea of change can be intimidating, but at Ephraim we welcome change
as an opportunity to grow and mature. As children we played on monkey bars.
I think of my job here more as play. Yeah, I’m older, but all I need to do
now is keep “raising the bar.” |
